MA project

My MA started with a question: If I was to draw a life, what shape would it be?

Of course, as soon as you consider a life as a whole, the fact that it ends becomes inescapable. So the study became, in part, a meditation on mortality and a personal reckoning with my own life.

As the work neared completion, its title changed—from What is a Life? to An Impossible Object.

At its public showing, the carousel of twelve symbol-laden painted and carved boards was dismantled. Each piece was sold by blind auction and dispersed. That, too, carried its own symbolism
